Itinerary DAY 1 Cusco – Km. 104 – Wiñayhuayna – Aguas Calientes At 4:30 AM, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and transport you to the train station in Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll board the train to Km 104, where our Inca Trail trek will start. Enjoy the scenic journey as we head to the control point for a permit and passport check before we begin our hike along picturesque trails adorned with orchids. Our route includes a visit to Wiñayhuayna, which some believe was the residence of Machu Picchu’s ancient priests. We’ll be treated to stunning views of the Urubamba River and the lush cloud forest. As we continue, we’ll catch our first glimpse of the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary and descend to our campsite at Puente Ruinas, where our team will have tents and food ready, and greet you with a refreshing cup of tea. After a good rest, you’ll be prepared for the trek to the citadel the following day. DAY 2 Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco Early in the morning, at 4:30 a.m., you will have the opportunity to go up to Machu Picchu to see the sunrise, and to begin your guided tour of the citadel of Machu Picchu. This tour will take between 90 minutes and two hours, after which you will be able to continue exploring the Inca citadel independently, before returning at around midday to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch (not included), before taking the return train to the village of Ollantaytambo, and a bus to Cusco.
