Itinerary

DAY 1

Welcome to Cusco + CITY TOUR

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel to acclimatize to the altitude. In the afternoon, around 1:00 p.m., the city tour begins with visits to several key sites: the Temple of Koricancha, known for its impressive Inca architecture dedicated to the sun god Inti; Sacsayhuaman, renowned for its massive, precisely fitted stones; Qenqo, a religious site devoted to the Puma god; Puca Pucara, the “red fortress” and former military center; and the Tambomachay Temple, dedicated to water worship. The tour concludes with a return to the Plaza de Armas and an overnight stay in Cusco.

Maras (Salt Mines) - Moray

Around 8:15 a.m., you’ll be picked up from your hotel to begin the excursion. The journey takes you to the town of Maras, where you can appreciate the traditional charm and stunning Andean landscape, including views of snow-capped peaks like La Verónica. In Maras, you’ll visit the ancient Salt Mines, with over 3,500 small pools used to extract salt through evaporation. Following this, you’ll explore the Moray Archaeological Complex, featuring concentric terraces that were used for agricultural experimentation and fertility rituals.

Sacred Valley Tour

At 7:50 a.m., you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Cusco to start the day’s journey. You’ll travel through the Sacred Valley, following the Vilcanota or Urubamba River, and immersing yourself in the local culture. The first stop is the colonial mestizo town of Pisac, known for its Inca ruins. Afterward, you’ll have lunch in another village, enjoying a meal made from local ingredients. The tour continues to Ollantaytambo, the “Living Inca City,” originally built for administration and defense. You’ll explore the town’s narrow streets before heading to the train station. At 7:00 p.m., you’ll board a train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), arriving around 8:45 p.m., where you’ll be transferred to your hotel for the night.

Machu Picchu

After a restful night in Machu Picchu Pueblo, you’ll receive instructions from your guide before heading to the bus station. The bus ride, lasting 45 minutes and ascending 400 meters, takes you to the majestic Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a 3-hour guided tour, visiting key sites such as temples, plazas, and astronomical centers. After the tour, there’s an optional hike up Huayna Picchu with an additional ticket. Once the exploration is complete, you’ll return by bus to Aguas Calientes, board the train back to Ollantaytambo, and then transfer back to Cusco for an overnight stay.

Rainbow Mountain

The experience begins with a 4:30 a.m. hotel pickup, followed by a drive south to witness the natural wonder of Vinicunca, also known as Rainbow Mountain. After a breakfast stop in Cusipata, you’ll continue to the hike’s starting point for a 1.5-hour trek. Vinicunca, standing at 5,100 meters (16,700 feet), showcases stunning natural colors and breathtaking mountain views. After taking in the scenery and wildlife, you’ll hike back to the transportation, return to Cusipata for lunch, and finally head back to Cusco.
