The tour continues to Ollantaytambo, the “Living Inca City,” originally built for administration and defense. You’ll explore the town’s narrow streets before heading to the train station. At 7:00 p.m., you’ll board a train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), arriving around 8:45 p.m., where you’ll be transferred to your hotel for the night.
After a restful night in Machu Picchu Pueblo, you’ll receive instructions from your guide before heading to the bus station. The bus ride, lasting 45 minutes and ascending 400 meters, takes you to the majestic Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a 3-hour guided tour, visiting key sites such as temples, plazas, and astronomical centers. After the tour, there’s an optional hike up Huayna Picchu with an additional ticket. Once the exploration is complete, you’ll return by bus to Aguas Calientes, board the train back to Ollantaytambo, and then transfer back to Cusco for an overnight stay.
