As evening falls, you’ll board a scenic train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. The following day offers the choice of witnessing the breathtaking sunrise at Machu Picchu or taking a leisurely bus ride to the citadel. Guided tours will reveal iconic landmarks like the Sun Gate and Inca Bridge, while ample time is provided for exploring the majestic ruins at your own pace. This meticulously planned tour ensures a seamless, awe-inspiring experience filled with discoveries and the magic of the Inca Empire.
Itinerary
DAY 1
CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU
We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 a.m. to begin the Sacred Valley tour, starting with a visit to the Pisaq archaeological complex, featuring Inca terraces, a cemetery, and sacred structures. After a buffet lunch in Urubamba, we’ll proceed to Ollantaytambo, the finest preserved Inca site in the valley, where you’ll have time to explore the village and visit local craft markets. The tour concludes with a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll be met by hotel staff and given a briefing for your upcoming visit to Machu Picchu.
DAY 2
MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
In the morning, you can choose between two options for reaching Machu Picchu: hike up to the ruins around 4:30 a.m. to catch the sunrise, or take a 30-minute bus ride, with buses departing every 15 minutes. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your guide and group for a two-hour walking tour of the citadel, stopping at key sites while learning about its history. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore further or visit the Inca Bridge or Sun Gate. We’ll then take a bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll board the train to Ollantaytambo and then return to Cusco.
